Raising
Our Voices
-
We
advocate for needed research to improve detection, treatment, and the
quality of life for survivors.
-
We
are the local voices for ovarian and gynecologic cancers in the
Greater Washington, DC area (Maryland, Virginia, and the District of
Columbia).
Committed
to Consumer Input
Board
members of OGCC participate actively with the government by providing the
voices of consumers in governmental research activities.
- Ann
M. Mason, Chair of the OGCC Board, participates as one of the two
consumers on the Department of Defense (DoD) working group planning
the research peer review activities.
- Susan
Lowell Butler, Vice chair of the OGCC Board, participates with the
National Cancer Institute research activities.
- Charlotte
Naschinski served as one of the 6 consumer representatives on the 2003
DoD peer review panels. Serving as an equal voice to the
scientist reviewers, Charlotte provided the voice of ovarian
cancer.

representing the voices of consumers since DoD added consumer voices
to their scientific review process:
