A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving greater Washington, DC

We are committed to:

Educating women and health care providers about the symptoms and risk factors of ovarian cancer,
Providing supportive programs and information for ovarian cancer survivors and their families,
Helping to shape a national and regional agenda to improve awareness of the disease, and
Advocating for needed research to improve detection, treatment and the quality of life for survivors

Our Vision

All women in the Greater Washington D.C. area with ovarian and related gynecologic cancers have access to supportive programs and information that improves the quality of their health decisions.
By 2020, 80% of ovarian cancer cases detected in the Greater Washington D.C. area will be detected at early stage.

Profile

The Ovarian & Gynecologic Cancer Coalition (OGCC) of Greater Washington, DC, was formed when a group of survivors banded together to learn more about treatment options and ways to improve their quality of life.

We work to keep survivors, family, friends and the health care community in touch with each other. We are dedicated to provide news on ovarian cancer, cancer research and patient advocacy. We do this through programs, meetings and special events.

Since 1998, we have offered educational sessions to support cancer survivors, family and friends. These educational sessions focus on treatment, recurrence, legal, and other related topics.

In 2001, we added �Rhonda�s Club� to our name to honor one of our founders, Rhonda Oziel, who was one of the driving forces for the creation of both this regional group and our national organization, the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.
