Profile
The Ovarian &
Gynecologic Cancer Coalition (OGCC) of Greater Washington, DC, was formed when a
group of survivors banded together to learn more about treatment options and
ways to improve their quality of life.
We work to keep survivors, family, friends and the health care community in
touch with each other. We are dedicated to provide news on ovarian cancer,
cancer research and patient advocacy. We do this through programs,
meetings and special events.
Since 1998, we
have offered educational sessions to support cancer survivors, family and
friends. These educational sessions
focus on treatment, recurrence, legal, and other related topics.
In 2001, we added “Rhonda’s
Club” to our name to honor one of our founders, Rhonda Oziel, who was one of
the driving forces for the creation of both this regional group and our national
organization, the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.
